The Immunisation program aims to increase the immunisation rate of the Division and improve the quality of immunisation services by ongoing education and support to GP's and practice staff.

Activities include:

  • Cold chain training support and annual audit offered to all practices.

  • GPII -assistance with data cleansing and systems at practice level.

  • Ongoing GP and Practice Nurse Education.

  • Regular meetings with other Tasmanian Divisions of General Practice and Tasmania General Practice Division re State-wide issues

  • Division representation on DHHS immunisation network

  • KISS - Keep It Simple and Safe - This website is designed to assist anyone who provides a vaccination service.

  • Chain of Protection - This website can be used by both health professionals and the general public to assist with gathering factual information about immunisation.

  • Cervical Cancer Vaccine - Cancer Council Australia has launched a new website which contains Australian specific information and resources about HPV vaccination for girls, parents, schools and health professionals.

  • HPV register. Click on the "information for health professionals" tab to access HPV forms 

  • MMR Decision Aid - This decision aid has been designed to help consumers decide whether to immunise their child with the MMR vaccine.

  • Vaxiplace - is a new online forum for Australian GPs. The site is sponsored by Sanofi Pasteur and is moderated by an independent GP. It includes information on all vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases, regardless of manufacturer. It is not for the general public.

  • My Vaccination - is a useful website for consumers which is sponsored by Glaxo Smith and Kline.
