ABOUT US - General Practice Involvement
|
The Division actively encourages and
enables General Practice involvement in a range of
activities. GPs and practice staff are welcome to express an
interest in participating at any time. The Division
is keen to hear GPs and practices regarding
specific interests and issues of concern.
If you would like to play a more active
role in the Division please contact the or ph 6208 7300.
Liaison, communication and
representation
The Division actively creates networks
between general practice and other
organisations of relevance to primary care.
These networks serve to provide a general
practice perspective to planning and service
delivery at a local, state and national
level.
The Division regularly seeks interested
GPs and practice staff to represent the
Division on working groups and committees.
The Division's representative will be fully
briefed prior to participation and asked to
provide feedback to the Division, and
potentially a report or newsletter article
to disseminate issues to their peers.
Representation time is remunerated.
Governance, advice, planning and
evaluation
The Division’s Board of Directors
comprises 7 elected GP members and 2 non-GP
Independent Associate Members. Any GP
member may stand for a Board vacancy at the
time of the AGM.
A Division Advisory Panel provides an
additional means by which the Board is kept
informed of key issues affecting general
practice.
The Division's programs are guided by
general practice advisors and Reference
Groups. As needs arise, the Division may
call together GPs or practice staff for a
focus group to gain specific guidance on an
issue of concern or Division planning.
